Beyond the range time, this is why people come: a curated room where the cyber community actually gets to know each other: the people who run security programs and the people who build for them, on equal footing. One rule: nobody pitches. Ask real questions, compare notes, dig into problems over a course of fire and a fireside dinner. The relationships do the rest.

Field notes

“The sun is rising, the air is crisp, and the tension is palpable. Looking around the room, security executives and range officers are milling about, ensuring everyone is ready. The conversations are spectacular, the food is fantastic, and the range time is fast, competitive, and fun. This is not your typical get together or sponsors’ pitch, this is more dynamic, more focused, and more memorable. If you attend only one event this year, make it this one; you won’t regret it, I didn’t.”

From the founder

Built by someone who's sat in every seat

I've spent more than 30 years in technology, over 20 of them in cybersecurity, on every side of the table: owning the problem as a customer, building for vendors, and advising as a consultant. I've seen what works and what doesn't from all of those seats, and I've been to every conference this industry throws. I left most of them the same way: inbox full of random emails that don't help, still searching for the value.

The Shootout is what I wanted instead. A small room of people who run real programs and build real products, a day nobody forgets, and one rule that keeps it honest: nobody pitches.
